On the way to the truck factory in Wörth, a large construction site catches the eye. Directly opposite the customer center, next to the car park at gate 1, a demonstration charging park for electric trucks is currently being built.
The eActros has been rolling off the assembly line in Wörth since October 2021, and the eEconic is to follow in mid-2022. An important question is always how quickly the vehicles can be charged. For this reason, a demonstration charging park is currently being built near the industry information center. Daimler Truck and the Netze BW Services division want to make it easier for transport companies to get started with CO 2 -free heavy-duty transport, the companies have now announced.
At the new station, customers should be able to "experience technology-neutral truck charging stations and charging concepts from different manufacturers in real operation and, together with the experts on site, develop a charging solution that suits their specific application," says a Netze BW press release. Specifically, this means that the charging infrastructure is designed in this way must be that the loading process fits into the logistical and organizational processes of a company, for example when maneuvering, loading, changing tractors and reversing.
Opening planned for summer
According to Daimler Truck, the demonstration charging park will initially be equipped with five charging stations. In addition, the installation of a photovoltaic system on the roof of the charging park, including stationary storage, is planned to provide additional support for the power supply to the charging stations. The commissioning of the demonstration charging park is planned for summer 2022.
The Netze BW Services Division is responsible for the design, planning and construction of the customer demo charging park. After the construction phase, she will take over the operational management of the plant, including maintenance and service.
