Update from April 21, 2021:

Developer People Can Fly is currently working on restoring the items lost due to the inventory bug in Outriders. There is no release date yet, but we are working as soon as possible.

In a detailed post on Reddit, the developers give an insight into the process. It becomes clear that it also takes longer because no simple reset is possible, but each affected inventory has to be restored individually.

There are also three groups of affected players:

Group A: Characters unplayable and inventory cleared

Most of the players affected by the bug belong to this group.

These are the goals:

Group B: Playable characters with lost items

Significantly fewer players are affected.

These are the goals:

Group C: Unaffected players

All other players who were spared the bug.

These are the goals:

The first two groups need special measures to ensure that all or at least some of the items return. The third group is also important, as the developers urgently want to prevent players from being affected in any way by the complex work. With such complex technical processes in the code, there is always a risk of causing new problems.

What happened until now

Update April 20, 2021: The new update 1.06 for Outriders has arrived on the PlayStation and Xbox consoles. The new patch is also available for PC users to download on Steam and Epic.

Patch 1.06 is also intended to eliminate the major problem with the inventory bug, which first appeared shortly after the release. The Polish developers of People Can Fly reported in a post on Reddit that they are keeping an eye on the problem: "We want to use the weekend to further monitor the situation and ensure that no other players are faced with problems before we can begin the restoration."

Will players get lost inventory back? Not with the current patch. The developers also comment on Reddit and emphasize that the teams have initially focused on preventing further inventory deletions. Once the bug is fixed, inventory recovery solutions will be worked on.

Invisible inventory after patch 1.06: After the patch, items in the inventory may briefly become invisible after logging in. According to the developers, this is part of the plan and is intended. Anyone affected should exit the game and restart after a few minutes.

Outriders: Wie die Inventar-Wiederherstellung funktionieren soll

Update from April 16, 2021: With a new patch for Outriders, the developers finally want to have fixed the inventory bug. As a result, your loot, legendary weapons and armor are no longer in danger of simply disappearing and leaving you so naked.

The people can fly developers shared the good news on Reddit, but at the same time warned of possible connection problems. However, this should only be a temporary error that can be remedied by a restart or a short wait of a few minutes.

The developers also promise to continue to monitor the situation: If the inventory wipe occurs even after installing the new patch, People Can Fly asks you to report it. Over the weekend they want to continue to monitor the situation in order to react to any problems.

When will I get my lost loot back? The developers also emphasize that they continue to work on restoring the items deleted by the bug. However, this is a separate process that is not directly related to the new patch. That's why players have to be patient in this regard.

More information will follow as soon as People Can Fly "has convinced itself of the efficiency of the new patch". We will of course keep you informed as soon as there are new developments.

Original message: After the developers of People Can Fly assumed that the new Outriders patch would reduce the risk of an inventory wipe, the glitch is back according to numerous players - and apparently more aggressive than ever.

On Reddit, for example, there are numerous contributions from less than happy fans who are still losing their entire loot because of this glitch or even a second time: Legendary weapons or armor are not safe from the game error, which is currently causing enormous frustration in the player community.

Danger is not banned

Frustration among players: Wolphoenix, for example, writes that after 80 hours of play, it has lost its entire inventory - not unlike Kuro_Gensui, who faces exactly the same problem. To make matters worse, these affected players could not even log into Outriders. Incidentally, these are just two examples; there are far more player complaints in the game forums.

Developers promise an early solution: At the current time, the problem with the inventory bug and lost loot from Outriders has not yet been resolved. However, People Can Fly employees promise that fixing the error is currently "the highest priority" for them. For more info, fans should keep an eye on the developers' official Reddit channel. It currently remains to be seen when a fix for the glitch will finally appear.

What's next?

Affected players should get their loot back: Furthermore, it is still rumored that the developers of Outriders want to bring back lost armor and weapons - even if there is a catch. As People Can Fly already explained on Reddit, only the strongest or most valuable (i.e. epic and legendary) items will be restored. Also, returned items may not have the same stats as lost ones.

What is known about the inventory wipe bug?

What exactly does the bug do? The error deletes your inventory, most of the time the complete equipment is gone. It is particularly annoying that the item storage is also affected for many players. So it doesn't necessarily help to store your legendary items in the stash.

Who is affected? Reports about the inventory bug come from all platforms, i.e. PC and consoles. It can affect players of all levels and world tiers.

When does he appear? According to an official statement from the developers, this is not yet known exactly. From the reports of those affected, however, it can be deduced that it is related to connection errors. For example, if Outriders crashes while you're joining another player, your inventory won't load properly and may disappear as a result. The bug seems to appear most frequently in co-op mode, but there have also been reports of solo players standing in front of their almost naked Outrider after launch.

You can do that

Is there a fix or workaround? The developers recommend a simple measure to work around the bug. As soon as you realize that your inventory is empty, you should quit the game immediately (not just go back to the lobby, but close the entire program!) and then restart it. There's no guarantee that this will fix the error, but there's certainly no harm in trying.

You cannot load previous saves in Outriders, as it runs exclusively via online connection and autosave. Editor Peter has a clear opinion on this:

The good news is that the developers are working on the bug. They also promise that the items can be restored, either via individual customer support or via a backend restore. However, no details on the implementation or the timetable for this are known.
