Amazon Games takes its MMORPG New World offline every week to maintain the servers. In preparation for Patch 1.1.1, the maintenance work will take a little longer.

Update from December 1st, 2021: It is Wednesday. That means only one thing for all early risers in New World: waiting. In order to apply patch 1.1.1 to the worlds, Amazon Games will carry out extensive server maintenance on December 1st. The MMO will not be playable for several hours. The maintenance work started early in the morning and is expected to last until just before noon.

New World: Server maintenance on December 3rd, 2021 – that’s how long Patch 1.1.1 paralyzes the MMO

How long does server maintenance take? The New World Server maintenance for patch 1.1.1 will take place today between 08:00 and 11:00 - assuming everything goes according to plan. With the release of New World, the MMO was repeatedly struggling with problems. In the worst case, the servers were down for a whopping 11 hours at a time. In the past few weeks, however, the Amazon Games team has reduced the waiting time for maintenance work to a minimum.

What's in Patch 1.1.1? Anyone who thinks that we are about to face a major content patch based on the rather long server maintenance will unfortunately have to disappoint them. Patch 1.1.1 does not bring any new content and instead focuses on numerous bugs in the game that Amazon Games wants to eliminate. Here are the most important changes of patch 1.1.1:

As usual, you can find the full patch notes for Update 1.1.1 in New World in the official blog post for the MMO. Should the maintenance work take longer than expected, we will of course keep you up to date here.

Update from November 10th, 2021: A new Wednesday and a new server maintenance for New World is coming up. Or does she? In the past few weeks since the release of the MMORPG, Amazon Games has always chosen Wednesday for new updates and server maintenance. This week, however, things are a little different. We'll tell you if and when New World will be shut down this week.

Good news for everyone who intends to farm their skills up a little in New World today, or to fight a few PvP battles. There will be no server maintenance or patches on November 10th. In an official announcement on the New World forums, Amazon Games has stated that the Public Test Realm will instead be launched today, in which new features can be tried out before the official release. A patch may come later this week, but that won't be the case today.

New World: Server maintenance on November 3rd, 2021 – The MMO will be paralyzed until then

Update from November 3rd, 2021: Server maintenance will take place again this Wednesday in New World. Again the servers will be shut down for a few hours to fix some things. The patch 1.0.5 should come later. Players will probably be able to expect maintenance work twice this week.

The server maintenance of November 3rd took place between 4:00 and 7:00 in the morning. According to the current status, all new World servers are back online and ready to play. The gold dupe was fixed to reactivate the thaler trade between players and the trading post. However, the maintenance work is not yet the weekly patch. When Patch 1.0.5 will appear and what it contains is still unknown. We will keep you informed as soon as there is any news.

Update from October 28th, 2021, 10:40 a.m.: The servers are online again. After juicy criticism of Amazon Games in the past few weeks, the extensive server maintenance now seems to be a thing of the past. What took 11 hours shortly after the release is now apparently history after just over three hours. Most of the EU Central worlds are playable again well before the targeted end time of server maintenance. So it can be diligently crafted and war waged again.

In the social media, the battered fans are overjoyed. User @Breekachu91, for example, reacted with surprise to the confirmation that all servers are now available again: "That was too fast for me. Joking aside, it's great that this time it went so quickly and without complications." @ReadsComics also acknowledges the efforts of Amazon Games with a pleased "Clean, that went quickly!" So we wish you lots of fun in the world of Aeternum!

Update from 10/28/2021, 8:25 a.m.: A new week, a new maintenance. This time, however, the server maintenance of New World will not take place on Wednesday as usual, but on Thursday German time. The early hours of the morning will show how long the servers will ultimately stay down. Amazon Games already presented at least a rough schedule via Twitter at 3:00 a.m. in the morning.

New World: Server maintenance on October 28th, 2021 – that’s how long update 1.0.4 will paralyze the MMO

How long is server maintenance for Patch 1..0.4.? The patch planning from 07:00 in the morning, which is much easier for European players to cope with, continues and so if everything goes smoothly, you only have to do without New World in the early hours of the morning. According to the schedule, server maintenance should only last four hours. That's how long update 1.04. New World expected to be lame:

Update 1.0.4 also brings back two of the most important features that should have been implemented in the MMO long ago: the long-awaited free server transfer (Server Transfer) and the outpost storm (Outpost Rush). After both features were switched off again at short notice due to performance problems, the time has finally come and you can help your friends on other servers. The release schedule for both features is as follows:

What changes after server maintenance in patch 1.0.4? But of course there is also a full patch behind update 1.0.4, which is supposed to change some things in New World. This is how Amazon Games is responding to requests from fans who wished they could collect more faction tokens until they hit their limit. No sooner said than done, and so the cap on the first level, for example, is right at 7,500 brands.

In addition, the life staff gets a buff, so that the abilities "Healing Touch" and "Blow of Delight" could now become much more attractive. Hardly anyone played them before because it was simply too difficult to effectively incorporate them into the healer rotation. In addition, there are the usual technical adjustments that should ensure better performance, especially in wars. As usual, you can find the full patch notes for New World Update 1.0.4 in the official forum post.

New World: Server maintenance on October 20th, 2021 – that’s how long you have to do without the MMO

Update from October 20th, 2021: Today there is another maintenance work on the New World server from Amazon Games. The servers are expected to be down for 5 hours. During this time, among other things, the new New World update 1.0.3. played up. The downtime starts today at 7:00 am and should be completed at 12:00 noon. However, as we know from the past, maintenance work can also be delayed. Last week, players of the MMORPG lost their game passes for more than 11 hours.

With the update 1.0.3. fans will get the much-anticipated server transfer feature and other changes coming to the game. However, the server transfer will not be usable immediately. The character transfer will only be activated in the world Utopia in AP Southeast and if there are no problems in the following 8 hours, it will also be available for other regions.

Update from October 13, 2021, 11:02 p.m.: 660 minutes of downtime, hundreds of frustrated players and a mini patch. This is the sad conclusion for what is probably the blackest day in the rather short history of New World. It took a whopping eleven hours for all EU Central worlds to be online again. Actually, the maintenance work was only scheduled for five hours - not an unusual period of time for an MMO. But the community took the double time anything but forgiving.

New World: Server maintenance on October 13th, 2021 – Amazon Games collects hate after 11-hour debacle

Hate speeches against developer Amazon Games hailed in all forums, on Twitter and even on Twitch. While lunchtime was still marked by the fact that many players encouraged the studio and thanked them for not holding the server maintenance in the European evening hours, the longer the evening dragged on, the mood changed. Unfortunately, there has been no concrete explanation as to which problems ultimately led to the delay.

Finally, we can only hope that the debacle of the last two server maintenances will not be repeated next Wednesday. After all, New World faces prominent competition. Many MMO fans migrated to the release of World of Warcraft to give the Amazon Games project a chance - the player numbers speak for themselves. But in such a delicate balance, one pitch-black day can mean the difference between a loyal community and mass migration.

For comparison: The maintenance work for World of Warcraft usually takes place on Wednesdays between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m., so it is much more convenient for European players and one thing above all: shorter. It remains to be seen whether Amazon Games will take a similar step in the future or whether the Steam infrastructure will not allow it. One thing is certain: no matter how long the next maintenance work will take, we will keep you up to date here.

Update from October 13, 2021, 10:34 p.m.: The next wave of online servers has now been published. But in the meantime, the majority of the players should have given up. For those who are still holding out, here is the list of worlds that should be playable again as of now:

Bran Caer Sidi\t Phaeacia malva Lesath
Mayda\t Ishtakar To-Vendis\t ship trap Mandara
Brittia Metsola Charadra caprona Chryse
Jotunheim Glitnir Kaloon Corbenic Dvaraka
Mardi Kalevala Lethe Delphinius Banoic
Cassipa Arcturus Caspak Altruria evonium
Nericus Eridanus Kerguelen Ravenspurn otuks
Emathia Hellopia apis perseus hydrus

Update from October 13th, 2021, 10:10 p.m.: It is official. Amazon Games has doubled the allotted time for server maintenance. For more than ten hours, a number of players have been waiting to continue the grind. Not all EU Central Servers are online yet, but the number of frozen worlds is slowly clearing. The following servers have been reported online by the community manager:

Ophir Natrond Lyonesse lamian Naxos
Bermeja Ramaja\t nysa Kianida runemountain
Gladsheim Nysus Ife\t Bengodi Icaria
Pyrandia Nexdorea Estotiland Tanje Tir Na Nog
Vaikuntha Suddene Tabor Island\t Cor Muspelheim

inferno Muspelheim Tir Na Nog Icaria Murias
Groclant Erewhon Idaful bifrost bifrost

Update from October 13th, 2021, 9.49 p.m .: Apparently there are major structural problems with the EU Central Servers. Instead of doing things the way they did with US West, Amazon Games has decided not to bring the local worlds back up all at once, but in waves. The next server wave has now apparently gone online again. Players on the following worlds can look forward to:

eurytheia ekera harmony Opar silpium
Hades Gaunes Eridanus pointland Aiolio
Takshasila Abaton\t Gorias Albraca annwyn
Diana's Grove Argyre Vineta Learad Hyperborea
Hellheim\t Harpinna Fae\t wholeir Sanor
Rocabarra Damalis nowhere Antillia styx
Vimur Thrudheim Jansenia Amenti Glyn Cagny
Saena Urdarbrunn carcosa alfheim Vainola

However, Community Manager:in TrevtorFTW has confirmed that there will be more updates as the next wave of servers comes online. Nevertheless, the mood on social media is boiling. Many are calling for the next update not to put the European servers at a disadvantage, but instead to hold server maintenance at a time that gets US players into trouble - as in many other online games, New World has probably had the eternal War NA vs. EU crept in.

New World: Server maintenance today - Target time almost doubled

Update from October 13, 2021, 9:10 p.m.: Amazon Games is pushing the next wave. Another 25 servers should now be online. However, there are still some worlds that have been unreachable for nine hours now. The following servers should now be playable again:

Asgard duat Finias Utgard van
Larissa iroko Midgard Una-bara Petermannland
aaru Zanara Kurhah Ismarus Eta Monte's Serrum
Hippotae Ismarus theta alastor Slavna Tupi
wonderland Zerzura Ravenal Penglai Sheba

Update from 10/13/2021, 8:40 p.m.: Light at the end of the maintenance tunnel. As soon as we missed you our last update, Amazon Games spoke up via Twitter. Apparently the team got the first EU Central Servers up and running again. For the current list, see the official blog post for today's update. Even if we are still on Silpium, we wish everyone who can already play a lot of fun and short queues.

Update from October 13th, 2021, 8:30 p.m .: Amazon Games EU Central is still giving the cold shoulder. After the US servers were running again almost an hour after the targeted end time of server maintenance, European players continued to look into the tube. There is also radio silence on the official New World Twitter channel. For comparison: last Wednesday, players worldwide only had to wait until 7:30 p.m.

New World: Server maintenance today - EU Central offline again for targeted time

Demands for compensation are getting louder. Shortly before today's server maintenance, there was a discussion in the in-game chat about possible bonuses for all those who were desperately waiting for the servers to go back online last week. The demands range from time-limited XP bonuses to new skins for outfits and resource bundles. There has not yet been an official statement, including on the excessive maintenance work of the previous week.

Curiously, the New World official site shows all EU Central Servers as online. From our own experience, however, we can confirm that nothing is currently happening on Silpium. Although the display for the maintenance work has now disappeared, getting in is unthinkable. We hope for you that you have found an alternative to the New World addiction and that the queues are not too long as soon as the European servers are up and running again.

Update from October 13th, 2021, 5:35 p.m .: Continued server lull in New World. Thousands of players waited longingly in front of their PC at 5:00 p.m. to finally hack into defenseless trees for hours after the maintenance marathon, but puff cake. As confirmed by the official New World Twitter channel, the servers of the EU Central and US West regions will remain offline indefinitely. This means that players have to do without the MMO for the second week in a row longer than originally planned.

The mood in the community is correspondingly tense. Many are just coming to the end of the day and can hardly wait to finally return to Aeternum. Now, of course, the disappointment is great. Especially on Twitter, gamers let their anger run free - and that, although at lunchtime there were still conciliatory words towards Amazon Games because the server maintenance was not done in the evening hours European time:

For all North American players, the confirmation has now come: NA West is back online. We can currently only guess how long EU Central will remain down. At this point we will of course keep you up to date when you can finally gamble again.

Update from October 13th, 2021, 12:05 p.m .: Next bad news for fans of New World. After the servers were not available for more than five hours last Wednesday and the MMO was therefore not playable, the next server maintenance will follow today. For the second week in a row, however, it will not be just a short restart of the servers. As Amazon Games confirmed via Twitter and in the official game forum, the new update paralyzes the New World servers for a proud five hours.

New World: Server maintenance today - new patch paralyzes MMO for another five hours

When does server maintenance start? With this, the team is reacting to the criticism of many players from the past week and is showing more transparency. Last week it was initially said that server maintenance would only last about an hour. However, it remains questionable whether five hours will be enough today to bring the new patch to the live servers. On Twitter, many community members are pessimistic and suspect that they won't be able to get back into the game until 8 p.m. - especially tragic for everyone who is facing a war today.

What's in the new update of New World? The 1.0.2 update for New World itself is intended to fix a number of errors in the game, some of which caused crashes. For example, players will be resurrected as a corpse after death. For many, however, the new patch for New World does not go far enough. So it happens again and again that the compass suddenly fails and nearby resources are no longer displayed - extremely corrosive for an MMO in which the search for resources takes up most of the time.

Update from October 6th, 2021, 5:11pm: The additional hour has come and gone, but New World remains offline. The servers of the MMORPG have now been in maintenance for over five hours and the game should have been back for all fans long ago. But now it gets even worse - Amazon Games has to extend the work on New World again.

New World: Server maintenance turns into a disaster - Two more hours of waiting

Once again, Amazon Games reached out to fans via the official New World Twitter account and had bad news to deliver. Apparently there are currently technical difficulties in maintaining the servers. Therefore, the waiting time of the fans will be delayed by another two hours. Barring any further problems, the New Word servers will be back online at 7:00 p.m. But be prepared for a big rush on the servers at this time.

Update from October 6th, 2021, 4:30 p.m.: The New World servers should actually have been back online for half an hour and welcome the fans again. However, if you currently want to log into the game, you are still faced with a blocked access button. It looks like the maintenance of the New World servers will take a little longer.

New World: Amazon Games has to extend server maintenance of MMORPG

As Amazon Games recently announced via Twitter, the maintenance of the servers will take longer than expected. According to the current status, the game will not go online again at 4:00 p.m., but at 5:00 p.m. So fans will have to be a little more patient before they can jump back into New World.

First report from October 6th, 2021, 12:01: Seattle, Washington – A little more than a week after its first release, Amazon Games is providing the MMORPG New World with a first update today. According to the patch notes, there will be a variety of improvements and changes, primarily to address the game's AFK issue. The new update is also at the expense of the fans. At the same time as the update, the developer is doing major maintenance on the servers at New World, which will take a few hours.

New World: Long server maintenance, preparation for patch 1.0.1

When does server maintenance start? At 12:00 p.m. German time, Amazon Games will temporarily disable the New World servers for server maintenance. Meanwhile, fans can download update 1.0.1 for the client. The first patch for the all-new MMORPG promises to cut down on AFK prevention times and will prevent fans from simply exiting New World's often long queues without being notified. The full patch notes are also available on the official New World website.

How long does server maintenance take in New World? Fans will not be able to easily jump back into New World after downloading the update. As Amazon Games has announced, maintenance will also be carried out on the New World servers from 12 noon German time. These will take some time.

In a recent Twitter post, Amazon Games states that the expected downtime of the servers during the maintenance will be around 4 hours. After the update, fans of the game will not be able to get back into New World until 4 p.m. German time. For your (re)entry into New World we have a selection of guides ready for you here.

New World: Besides server maintenance – fixes for QoL, no server transfer for characters yet

What content does the new patch bring after the server maintenance? The first update for New World is still clear in terms of changes and fixes. Amazon Games will initially focus on isolated bug fixes and minor quality of life improvements. There will be a few big changes, especially in AFK prevention, but here are all the patch notes from Update 1.0.1.

In addition to the fundamental improvements, Amazon Games also installed the first barrage of bug fixes in New World with Patch 1.0.1. In addition to some general errors and bugs, the update particularly fixes bugs in the AI and the quest process.

A downer is that the update still does not allow characters to be transferred to the server. Amazon Games announced the feature shortly after the release of New World to give fans on crowded servers the opportunity to switch to less populated worlds.

The long wait times continue to be a problem at New World, mainly because many players use bots or autorunning to keep their characters from dropping out of the server. However, Amazon Games has confirmed that it will continue to work on the server transfer and will already lay the foundation for it with patch 1.0.1.
