Extraordinary circumstances require extraordinary measures: Because of Covid-19, there is even a welder working from home at FAB GmbH.
(PresseBox)(Waldshut-Tiengen,)His job is for Alexander Studinger appointment: The 21-year-old works as an industrial mechanic and trained welder at FAB Fördertechnik und Anlagenbau GmbH (FAB) based in Waldshut-Tiengen - and, like many others during the Corona epidemic, has been working from home for a few days or better : in the home workshop. Because the workstation at which he welds the mixing shafts together for FAB customers is in his own workshop next to the house in Albbruck, southern Baden, in the Waldshut district. "Something like that is almost impossible, but we have to adapt," explains Managing Director Werner Späth proudly. The idea came from Studinger himself, who has a fully equipped workshop including a welding table, fire extinguisher and first-aid kit where he lives. FAB Managing Director Späth and a safety engineer checked the conditions and then gave the go-ahead for the upgrade. The welding machine, extraction system, safety clothing and some materials were brought to the trailer and installed. Now the young welder works at home – under almost the classic conditions for home office work: fixed assignments with free time management, 40 working hours per week. "The work at my house has got off to a very good start," says Studinger. "I have enough space, the workplace is designed in the same way as the workshop in the company and I have quick access to all the material I need." -Managing Director Späth the unusual measure and is happy about the successful work and workshop situation. Communication with the company takes place via video telephony. "Everything works perfectly," concludes Späth. “On the one hand, Alexander Studinger's commitment meets all safety regulations and, on the other hand, ensures a more relaxed working atmosphere. Studinger normally works in our production hall, temporarily we have moved 3 more welding stations to the assembly hall.” Three colleagues from Studinger are still working there – each at a distance of four to five meters from one another. "Of course you miss one or the other thing that is nicer in the company, and of course the colleagues," says Studinger. "But I'm not doing badly in the home workshop. And the most important thing is that we are all better protected against infection with the current situation. ”But regardless of the successful solution, everyone hopes that the work situation will soon return to normal.
