For a long time now, it's not just the little and big boys who want to hit the bike park, go racing and wear long trousers. The girls are also conquering the world of downhill skiing more and more, and the question involuntarily arises: Why not suitable gravity clothing especially for women? After all, the demand for style and especially the fit is often completely different. Much-heard counter-argument: "It's just not worth it!"

# Tried it out for this special edition of our series! we put two testers with very different physiques in 8 park outfits and let them loose on the routes in the bike park. Slideshow: Tried it out! Special – Park clothing for women: 8 outfits for the lift season Start slideshow »

Okay ... The fact is, despite the rapid growth, the proportion of women mountain bikers is still relatively small, but some brands are showing that it's still possible . That's why we're presenting eight gravity outfits from Endura, Fox, ION, iXS, Leatt, Maloja, POC and Troy Lee Designs that are specially made for women or, in our opinion, are an adequate unisex alternative and are specially tailored , fit and special features of the individual MTB pants and jerseys. In order to get the right conditions, we tested the clothes in the Bikepark Oberhof.

# It is not just since yesterday that many women have been enthusiastic about visiting the bike park. Our testers Natasza and Jana have therefore put different outfits through their paces, especially for use in tougher terrain.# At 1.67 m and 60 kg, Jana usually wears her tops in size S and her trousers vary between sizes S and M. - She tends to have long legs and a straight build.# Natasza is 1.60 m tall and weighs 53 kg. - With her hourglass-shaped figure, she wears jerseys in size XS-S and pants in size S. Natasza has rather shorter legs.

Endura

After Endura with the Atherton Racing Team and thus also with women in the World Cup has become the focus of downhill sports, there is also a gravity department in the current collection especially for women. Namely for the part of the women's world that likes to attract attention. Because that's guaranteed with the paprika version of the MT500 Animo Jersey and the Burner Pant.

# The eye-catching Endura combination of the MT500 Animo Jersey and the MT500 Burner Pant chooses Natasza in size. S.

With its extravagant color and pattern combination, the MT500 Animo Jersey is not only limited, but also certainly the most extroverted of the tested models. In addition to the version in paprika, the long-sleeved jersey is also available in two other eye-catching color and pattern versions. Endura's color concept makes it possible to flexibly combine long and short variants. Anyone who likes to wear the entire range of protectors under the jersey should choose a size larger, the cut of the Animo jersey is true to size and more body-hugging. The normal size should be the right one for anyone who prefers to throw on their clothes without or only with elbow protection. Overall, the Endura bib makes a valuable impression and is light and comfortable to wear. At just under €50, it is also by far the cheapest in the test.

# Two zipped pockets provide enough space for small items such as lift tickets, mobile phone, etc.# Endura-Product-0636# Endura-Product-0637

The name says it all with the Endura Burner Pant, because the tested version comes in fiery paprika guaranteed to burn in. Those who don't like it quite so gaudy can fall back on the more subtle version in black. What is consistently convincing, regardless of the color, is the above-average comfort, thanks to the super-soft material and discreet seams. Because of this and the good ventilation and the Clickfast system for attaching any Endura inner pants, the Burner Pant also qualifies for pedal-heavy Enduro tours, but loses a little in terms of robustness. There is also enough space for larger knee pads and the knees are not uncomfortably tight when pedaling. When choosing a size, you should definitely choose a whole number smaller, the pants are large. Girls with long legs can rejoice: finally pants that don't cause a flood alarm.

Women's MT500 Animo Longsleeve LTD

# The figure-hugging Endura jersey impresses with its eye-catching color and pattern print.# The elaborately finished collar area looks chic and ensures a good fit.# The material ensures mesh processing for good ventilation... # ... and also consists largely of recycled raw materials.

Women's MT500 Burner Pant

# According to tester Natasza, the Burner Pant is extremely comfortable to wear, but is quite long and large for a women's model. # The Endura kit immediately catches the eye - a real eye-catcher.# The comfortable material of the Burner Pant is ventilated through laser-cut openings.# The design is perfectly matched to the matching Animo Jersey.# The width can be adjusted using the Velcro fasteners on the back easily adjusted - with Natasza's slim waist, however, the pants then wrinkle a little. # Women's clothes park action 0859

Fox Head

# Tester Jana wears both the Flexair Jersey and the Defend Pants in size. S.

Fox is already one of the established brands in the women's segment. Just like in the trail area, they also offer a large selection for the female bike wardrobe when it comes to park and gravity wear. Divided into the three product lines Flexair, Ranger and Defend, they cover almost all requirement areas according to the criteria of ventilation, versatility and robustness.

The long-sleeved Flexair Jersey impresses with its good ventilation, but thanks to the abrasion-resistant material on the shoulders and sleeves, it also withstands contact with trees or the ground. The slit hem and the long cut on the back ensure almost unrestricted freedom of movement. Overall, the Flexair Jersey is true to size, but it is very figure-hugging and is more recommended for slimmer women with a smaller bust size, as the visible cross seam in the chest area no longer runs under the chest, but exactly on it. In principle, one size larger applies here if the back and chest armor should fit under the jersey. The Flexair Jersey is available in two other colors and can also be easily combined across lines, for €65 it wanders over the counter.

# For use in the park, Jana combines the Flexair Jersey with the Defend Pants.# Fox-Product-0620# Fox-Product-0622

The Fox Defend Pants are probably the right choice for thoroughbred racers and bike park pilots. The solid fabric is water and dirt repellent and extremely robust. Fox counteracts the low stretch properties of the material with a preformed, downhill-oriented cut, while there is enough air in the knee and thigh area for extensive knee pads. Thanks to the preformed knees, the pants don't ride up when you're bent over, but they are basically cut rather short and are therefore more the choice for those with shorter legs. In addition, the waistband is, unlike all other models tested, low and not mid-waisted, so bad news for all girls with bigger bottoms. Otherwise, the Defend Pants are true to size and come in the standard sizes XS-XL for €135.

Long-sleeved jersey Flexair Women

# The Flexair jersey has a very figure-hugging fit - the breast seam could look unflattering on women with a large bust.# The small slit on the hem provides the necessary freedom of movement in the rather tight jersey.# The material of the sleeves is robust and should prevent unwanted abrasion... # ...while the mesh on the torso allows enough ventilation.

Womens Defend Pants

# The Defend Pants have an adapted cut for women and are most likely for them too suitable for smaller women.# The trousers can be closed and adjusted using the typical Fox ratchet fastener.# A total of two zip pockets made of mesh offer space for small items.# Elastic inserts ensure a good fit and freedom of movement at the same time.# Little extra: the logos are made of reflective print

ION

# In the ION outfit, consisting of Tee Seek Jersey and Scrub AMP Pants, Jana wears a size up at the top. S and below a size. XS.

At first glance, the Seek Tee doesn't look like a classic jersey: the contrasting cuffs give it a modern look and almost make it look like a leisure shirt. It is just as comfortable to wear, the mesh fabric made of functional cotton feels light on the skin, but dries much faster than conventional cotton. The cut of the jersey is true to size, but loose and offers enough space for all necessary protectors even in the usual size. The Seek Tee is available in another color and five sizes for just under €70.

# Jana combines the Tee Seek Women with the Scrub AMP unisex pants.# Ion-Product-0566# Ion-Product-0569

In addition to long-sleeved women's jerseys, ION also has a large selection of short women's clothing, but no long pants specifically for them women in the range. A unisex version of the scrub pants should make both sides equally happy. And indeed, the Scrub AMP Pants have a surprisingly good fit, but are limited in terms of size. A unisex XS corresponds to a size S for women's clothing and is relatively long. Tall women and those with long legs get their money's worth here.

Anyone who wants long pants to work well both in the park and on enduro rides will find a skilful compromise in the Scrub Pants. The material of the pants is robust, but still flexible and the discreet seams do not interfere with pedaling, in the knee area there is enough space for knee pads. The seat area is reinforced and an elastic insert over the seat ensures that the pants stay in place. However, the advertised versatility has its price, the Scrub AMP bike pants cost €179.90, making them the most expensive pants in the test.

Tee LS Seek Women

# The jersey from ION is as comfortable to wear as a leisure shirt and almost looks like it.# Wave-like print - matching ION's slogan: "Surfing Trails".# It dries thanks to the functional cotton Jersey four times faster than conventional cotton ... # ... and the all-over mesh material ensures ventilation.

Bikepants Scrub AMP Unisex

# If you didn't know it, you wouldn't think it - the ION pants are a unisex model, but also fits women very well.# One of the two trouser pockets has a padded smartphone inlay – but the mobile end device must not be too big for it.# The width is easily adjusted using the two Velcro fasteners on the front , the snap fastener is also secured with a Velcro fastener.# Despite the body-hugging cut, the elastic insert on the waistband makes it easy to put on and take off.# Small details ensure a modern look.

iXS

iXS delivers a genuine race kit with the Trigger Kombi: eye-catching and stylish. The set is only available in a unisex cut – it tends to be one size larger than the corresponding sizes for women, but it also looks good on women.

# Jana wears the flashy outfit from iXS one size smaller than usual - in XS.

The Trigger X Air Jersey is quite narrow and not too long and offers enough air for protection in the usual size, otherwise one size smaller is recommended . The body of the jersey, made from recycled PET bottles, is made of breathable mesh, while the sleeve fabric is more robust. The eye-catching design is available in three different color variants, the choice of fit is generous between a total of seven options from XS-3XL. The same applies to the Trigger Pants, which are also available in a fourth color variant.

# The kit from iXS does not have a cut that is typical for women, but it still convinces with its fit.# iXS-Product-0583# iXS-Product-0586

The Trigger Pants have a very figure-hugging cut overall and especially in the calf area , but thanks to the elastic X-Stretch material, it also offers enough freedom of movement for ambitious driving maneuvers, elastic mesh inserts also contribute to comfort and ventilation in equal measure. The fit of the pants is discreetly adjusted using the Velcro solution on the inside. In the same place, the rubberized waistband prevents the jersey from slipping out if it is worn tucked in. The Trigger Pants change hands for a whopping €139, the whole kit is available for just under €216.

Trigger X Air Jersey

# As expected, the iXS Trigger X Air Jersey is slightly larger.# The material mix on the sleeves and torso manages the balancing act between ventilation and durability.# A flexible insert is intended to prevent the cuffs from stretching out. # A rubberized print keeps the jersey in place in case the top is tucked into the pants.

Trigger Pants

# The iXS Trigger Pants are very figure-hugging, especially on the calves. # It doesn't slip off your bum that easily - a zip and two press studs know how to prevent that.# Very discreet: the inside Velcro adjustment.# The Trigger Pants also have two zipped trouser pockets.# There is light mesh in the hollow of the knees -Inserts so that women don't sweat too much under their knee pads.

Leatt

Black and fast - the Leatt suit comes in the classic all-black look. Although Leatt hasn't had a clothing line especially for girls for very long, it's one of the few brands that also has a long set in a women's cut with the MTB 4.0 kit.

# Natasza's choice in the simple Leatt women's suit is Gr. S on top and bottom.

The MTB 4.0 UltraWeld Jersey owes its name to the discreetly welded seams, which give it an extremely clean and high-quality look. Unraveled seams - none! The all-over mesh material makes the jersey super light and at the same time ensures extremely good ventilation, which is also enhanced by laser-cut openings. As is to be expected from the South African protector specialists, they have given their jersey a neck brace-friendly collar. With the reinforced elbow areas, the jersey qualifies for hard downhill and bike park use, for complete protection you should use a size larger than usual. Two discreet inner pockets without zips allow you to carry your goggles dry to the start of the course, even in rainy weather.

# With the MTB 4.0 UltraWeld Jersey and the MTB 4.0 Pants, Leatt supplies a park kit especially for women.# ´# Leatt-Product-0560

The Leatt MTB 4.0 Pants are true to size, but overall they are quite narrow and long . If you like to wear somewhat bulkier knee pads, you might have some space problems. Otherwise, Leatt has not skimped on features: three zipped pockets offer enough space for lift tickets, keys and snacks, laser-perforated ventilation openings in the water- and dirt-repellent 4-way stretch material ensure sufficient ventilation and the rubberized waistband, which can be adjusted with a ratchet fastener, guarantees a perfect fit reliable fit. Both are available as a set for just under €200.

Jersey MTB 4.0 Women UltraWeld

# The UltraWeld jersey is one thing above all: super light.# This is made possible by the mesh that makes up the entire jersey.# The already airy material is additionally ventilated by laser-perforated openings. # As was to be expected: the protector specialists from South Africa have fitted their jersey with a neck brace-ready collar. # The elbow area is reinforced so that the light material is not damaged if it comes into contact with a tree or the ground.

Pants MTB 4.0 Women

# The MTB 4.0 pants are true to size, but also quite slim and long.# The width can be adjusted quickly and easily using the ratchet fastener.# The small pocket over the buttocks is perfect suitable for the smartphone - advantage of the position: it doesn't bother you and you fall on it less often.# Clever feature: the key loop in one of the two zip pockets.# Just like on the jersey, Leatt also uses perforated ventilation holes on the pants .

Maloja

# Also in the combination of Maloja Jana chooses the size. S.

The current "Soul in the Woods" collection from Maloja offers the usual large selection of women's clothing that can be combined with each other beyond the various sports. The WacholderM Longsleeve has hemp as a special component of the material composition - the so-called HempDry. Hemp is not only a natural raw material, it also gives the jersey a special feel and makes it extremely comfortable to wear, which is more like a cotton shirt than a functional shirt. The cut is also pleasantly loose, but true to size. The WacholderM Longsleeve is available in four colors and five sizes for around €75.

Some parts of the collection, like ours tested pants are not limited to a specific sport and are therefore classified in the "Multisport" category. The PappelM pants are therefore not necessarily designed for tough use in the park, but all the more for extended enduro tours. The fabric of the pants is extremely light and extremely well ventilated, which also ensures exceptional comfort. The elastic waistband without a fastener is also worn almost unnoticed on the hips and the knee area still offers enough space for wearing suitable knee protection. With the PappelM, too, women can choose between four colors and the usual sizes and pay a moderate €124.95 for them.

juniper M. Longsleeve

# Hemp is a special part of the shirt...# ... and gives it a special feel.# Large logo prints on the sleeves create a modern look. # The floral print is typical of the Maloja collection.

PappelM. Multisport pants

# The PappelM multisport pants are extremely light, but they are also the only ones in the test that are not special bike pants.# A total of two pockets with zips offer space for small items.# Details round off the simple look of the pants. # Small perforations stretch across almost the entire back.# A reflective stripe is embedded in the side leg seam.

POC

# Natasza chooses the Reform Enduro Jersey and the Infinite All for use in the Bikepark Oberhof -Mountain shorts for size M.

POC relies as usual on a simple color concept without much chichi. The Reform Jersey is actually intended for enduro use, but is also suitable for tougher terrain due to the robust fabric. A lift ticket can easily be stowed away in the inconspicuous pocket on the side seam. In principle, it is advisable to choose the jersey one size larger, but thanks to the loose cut there is also space for all important protectors. As is typical for POC, the Reform Enduro Jersey is available in black, but also in two other colored variants and in the usual sizes from XS-XL. At €80, it is more in the high-priced segment.

# Unlike all the others, the POC combo starts with shorts.# POC-Product-0666# POC-Product-0669

The POC outfit is the only one that starts with shorts . Perfect for anyone for whom a striped calf tan is a status symbol. Thanks to the preformed knees and the robust, water- and wind-repellent fabric, the Infinite All-Mountain Short is also suitable for ambitious use in rough terrain. Two side ventilation openings with zips provide the necessary ventilation. The cut of the Infinite Shorts is loose but true to size and covers the size range from XS-XL.

W's Reform Enduro Jersey

# The POC jersey is rather small – so that a protector can fit underneath, Natasza wears it one size larger than usual.# The Reform jersey makes a robust impression – the fabric of the jersey works rather firm and heavy.# Convenient! If you stow the lift ticket in the small pocket in the jersey instead of in your pants, it cannot get lost when you dig out your mobile phone, snacks, etc. # Typical for POC: simple color design, striking logo prints.

W's Infinite All-Mountain Shorts

# The robust Infinite Shorts have a casual fit.# The width adjustment is simple thanks to the discreet Velcro solution.# The two The largest of the three pockets don't have a zip and are on the outside of the legs...# ...just like the two ventilation openings hidden by zips...# ...while the third, small zipped pocket is placed over the buttocks. # Women's Clothes Park Action 0805

Troy Lee Designs

# In the Mischief Jersey by Troy Lee Designs, Natasza wears a size. S, she chooses the Sprint Pant Solid in size. 28.

For some time now, Troy Lee Designs has also had a collection for women. The three lines Luxe, Lilium and Mischief divide the bike wear according to their intended use. Mischief is the one recommended for the Gravity range, although again long pants are not part of the line. The Mieschief Jersey is the only one in the test that has ¾-length sleeves and is therefore more suitable for wearing over simple elbow pads than over long-sleeved protector jackets. The loose cut with the long back section also allows you to wear an upper body protector in a relaxed manner without having to buy a larger size. The combination of strong 4-way stretch material and light mesh makes the jersey robust and breathable at the same time. The Mischief Jersey is available in two unusual designs for €90.

# Natasza combines the women's jersey Mischief with the Sprint Pant Solid.# The cut and the length of the sleeves mean that protectors can be worn without any problems.# Here, too, the width can be adjusted using Velcro fasteners on the sides.

The Sprint Pant Solid is a unisex model and is available in sizes 28-40 for €149. The smallest size for the Troy Lee Pant is also approximately a size S in the women's segment. The preformed fit of the Sprint Pant is made up of different material inserts, each of which has protective, breathable or elastic properties in the right places. Unique feature: on the right, inner ankle area, a robust insert prevents premature wear of the trousers through contact with the chain. An additional mesh on the inside of the pants makes them comfortable to wear, but also makes them particularly warm on summer days. The waistband is adjusted with Velcro fasteners on the hips, while the rubberized inside offers additional support.

Womens Mischief Jersey

# The Mischief Jersey is the only one in the test that has ¾-length sleeves.# The collar is adorned with a subtle V-neckline.# The cut and the length of the sleeves make it easy to wear protectors .# The snake-rainbow pattern is a real eye-catcher.# The logo print shimmers in different colors depending on the light.

Sprint Pant Solid

# The unisex pants from Troy Lee are also a good choice for smaller women Figure.# Here, too, the width can be adjusted using Velcro fasteners on the sides.# Two asymmetrically arranged pockets offer space. # Anyone can do it simply - there are two large logo prints on the thighs.

Conclusion - park outfits for women

The range of park outfits especially for women is not large, but it's there and that's a good start. In addition, suitable unisex variants can be a real alternative. The individual requirements play a huge role here. That's why it's super important to have a guide, especially when it comes to the fit of each outfit. Our favourite: the iXS Trigger suit, because it covers a wide range of sizes and, despite the unisex cut, also works well for women. An additional plus: the parts are made from recycled PET bottles - we like that!

I wouldn't find it bad if the Decathlon things were also included in a test. Unexpectedly, their AM shorts are actually the most comfortable shorts I've ever had! Still have to prove themselves in a long-term test. But the quality seems to be good. In my opinion, however, a long-term test would actually be mandatory for such clothing tests anyway. That often separates the wheat from the chaff. Fit is individual and a matter of taste anyway. Golden Lemon,
