New day, new application for the German preliminary decision: With a likeable reel on Instagram, the "Cologne surf pop band" (self-description) Planschemalöör made their ambitions public to travel to the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin for Germany want. In the past few days there have been a few small hints on social media (and friendly whistleblowers - thank you!), so now the application is official.

Planschemalöör have therefore long wanted to represent Germany at the ESC and have finally applied this year: "We want to go from Cologne to Turin for the Eurovision Song Contest". Their outfits are characteristic of the band, because they always wear light blue swim shorts on stage. The four guys also stand out from the crowd linguistically, because the songs are not only sung in High German, but also partly (or mostly) in Kölsch.

The boys describe themselves as follows on their website:

Planschemalöör are the sixth act, after Ikke Hipgold, Daniel Schuhmacher, Janina Bey and presumably Linda Teodosiu and Eskimo Callboy, whose (probable) application for the German ESC preliminary decision in the coming year has become public. After two years of internal selection, the preliminary decision will take place again next year as a live show and with audience voting. We have already reported elsewhere about the exact plans of the NDR.

What do you think about the application of Planschemalöör? Can you imagine the guys on the preliminary decision or ESC stage? Write us your opinion in the comments!
