The assumption that you would brush faster with an electric toothbrush is a fallacy. You also have to invest 2 minutes with these brushes. With an integrated timer, you keep the time under control. According to the Stiftung Warentest, there are already good electric brushes for little money. The choice depends on the cleaning type and the requirements. Attention: Not to be neglected is the price of the replacement toothbrushes, which you change every three months. Here the prices for the brush heads range from less than one euro to 20 euros. In the electric toothbrush test, the costs for the power consumption of the hand brushes came to no more than 4 euros per year, so that all devices have moderate energy consumption.

If you want to take your toothbrush with you when you travel, make sure that the battery life is correspondingly long. Then you can leave the charging station in the bathroom at home.

In November 2019, Stiftung Warentest also tested replacement toothbrushes for devices from the Braun Oral B series and the Philips Sonicare models.
