The time has come every three months: Then asset managers who invest in the USA, and for whom the assets managed at least $ 100 million, must report their stock and fund transactions in the US stock exchange regulator SEC.The so -called 13F filings to the SEC each get great attention from private investors.Because here it can be seen how the major investors use their funds.

The asset managers each have 45 days after the end of the quarter to report their transactions. The registration period for the third quarter (June 30th - September 30th) expired on Monday.Cash.ch has already reported here and here how the well-known stock market gurus have postponed their money. In the 13F filings there are also the securities transactions of Swiss asset managers. Here is a selection:

UBS

The largest Swiss bank is noticeable due to an almost anti -cyclical investment. So you have increased your not exactly low stock of shares in the US technology company Facebook (recently "Meta") by a whopping 19 percent. Now you keep 8.5 million shares worth $ 2.9 billion. The meta share has been under pressure in particular since late summer after allegations of a former top manager against the group had become loud (more on this here).UBS is one of the few Swiss investment houses that bought in this phase.

UBS also bought a large scale from Salesforce and PayPal, where the inventory has been enlarged by 17 or 19 percent. While Salesforce may have been a worthwhile investment, PayPal should have fallen a little on the nose. The share has lost around 23 percent since the end of June.Even the numbers for the second quarter were worse than expected, the recently published third -quartal figures recently increased the share even more.

The largest investments from the volume remain Microsoft, Apple, Amazon and Alphabet, where the positions were each expanded between four and eight percent.

ZKB

Among the top 10 spaces of the companies listed on the US stock exchanges is the Alcon share at Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB), which is also listed on the Swiss Stock Exchange Six.The ZKB has increased its already lush position by six percent to a total of 5.3 million shares with a total value of $ 430 million. It should have been a worthwhile business, since the share has been able to grow by 18 percent since the end.

The increase in the US electric car maker Tesla, where the stock was increased by nine percent, increased to 190,946 shares. This is all the more if the ZKB did not sell it after September 30th.Finally, the stock ignited the turbo again in early October.

Zurich Insurance

At Zurich Insurance there are two things: on the one hand the large reduction in the large US technology companies, and on the other hand the massive increase in financial titles. In Microsoft and Alphabet - the two largest positions - separated from six or seven percent of the shares. The third largest position, Apple, was also reduced by three percent. The stock was only increased by three percent at Amazon.

In the third quarter, it seemed to be more optimistic about payment service providers. Both with Visa (+15 percent), MasterCard (+14 percent) and PayPal (+10 percent), all of which are in the top 12 positions, has been bought properly. The massive increase in the apartment broker Airbnb is also striking. Here you bought 291,836 shares, which resulted in an enlargement of the position by a whopping 111 percent.Their total value is currently $ 49 million.

BCV

The comparatively small Banque Cantonale Vaudoise (BCV) is also listed in the 13F filings-and is particularly noticeable with large purchases in Swiss shares.Especially for the titles Logitech (+21 percent), Alcon (+20 percent) UBS (+18 percent), which are noted in addition to the SIX on the New York Stock Exchange or Nasdaq, the Vaud rings have increased their positions properly. While Alcon and UBS have recently developed well, Logitech may have been a loss.

BCV also increased large in its largest position Microsoft (+12%) as well as Apple, Amazon (each+16%) and alphabet (+25%).The larger disruptions at Moderna (-27 percent) and Pfizer (-11 percent) are striking. Both stocks benefited from the developed corona vaccines.

SNB

The SNB always emphasizes not to operate an active stick picking, but to invest close to index.Accordingly, there are few outliers in the changes in positions. The five largest positions are still Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta (Facebook) and Alphabet (Google), where the value of the respective positions is between $ 3.2 billion (meta) and $ 9.3 billion (Apple). While the Amazon position has increased by two percent, the other so-called GAFAM shares reduced reductions of three to four percent each.

The 13 filings show how strongly the SNB rely on technology shares in the USA.The sixth largest position of the SNB of US titles now accounts for Tesla with a value of $ 2.5 billion. Here the inventory was increased by three percent. At seventh place is Nvidia, where the SNB, however, reduced its position by two percent slightly.
